Threshold reúne un conjunto de pinturas realizadas en un momento de transición dentro de mi práctica pictórica. En ellas, la imagen se sitúa en un umbral: entre la aparición y la desaparición, entre el gesto y la forma, entre la materia y la posibilidad de representación.

Las obras se construyen mediante superposiciones sucesivas de color, borrados, correcciones y desplazamientos. Ningún elemento ocupa una posición estable. Las formas parecen emerger de la superficie para volver a diluirse en ella, como si la pintura registrara un estado previo a la consolidación de la imagen.

Más que afirmar una composición cerrada, estas pinturas permanecen abiertas a la incertidumbre. Lo que interesa no es el resultado final, sino el proceso continuo de transformación que tiene lugar sobre la superficie. Cada capa conserva rastros de lo anterior mientras anuncia nuevas posibilidades.

En este sentido, el umbral no designa un lugar concreto, sino una condición: un espacio de tránsito donde la forma todavía no ha terminado de constituirse y donde la pintura permanece en un estado de inestabilidad productiva.

Threshold brings together a group of paintings created during a transitional moment in my painting practice. In these works, the image occupies a threshold: between appearance and disappearance, between gesture and form, between material presence and the possibility of representation.

The paintings are built through successive layers of colour, erasures, revisions, and displacements. No element holds a stable position. Forms seem to emerge from the surface only to dissolve back into it, as if the painting were recording a state prior to the consolidation of the image.

Rather than asserting a closed composition, these works remain open to uncertainty. What matters is not the final result but the ongoing process of transformation taking place on the surface. Each layer retains traces of what came before while suggesting new possibilities.

In this sense, the threshold does not refer to a specific place but to a condition: a zone of passage where form has not yet fully constituted itself and where painting remains in a state of productive instability.
