Identifying a specific motive for painting is often elusive. I frequently begin without a defined form, allowing the work to unfold on its own. At times, I start with a clear intention, but it tends to dissolve as the process evolves. Conversely, there are moments when I begin with no motive at all, only to discover one through the marks I make or a subtle instinct that guides the piece forward. This balance—welcoming form while embracing the formless—is a nuanced but fundamental aspect of painting.
